Our story
Rosetta Stone was founded in 1992 by Allen Stoltzfus, who set out to create a better way to learn languages after struggling with traditional methods. He developed the Rosetta Stone method, which mirrors natural language acquisition through contextual images and sounds – without translation. It quickly became the gold standard worldwide for anyone who wanted to learn a new language.
In 2021, Rosetta Stone joined the IXL Learning family of brands. Today, the company serves learners around the world, with offices in six countries.
